TECHNICAL ADVISORY for the 9500SS reel ONLY:
If you are changing from original parts on the 9500ss (8-9500, 19-9500) to new series parts (8N-9500, 19N-9500), it is NECESSARY to change BOTH the main gear and the pinion gear.
If one or the other requires replacement due to wear, it is strongly recommended to change both the main gear and the pinion gear, even if both are the newer type. The wear on one part usually equates to equal wear of the other part.

THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO THE 950SSm REEL which uses 8N-9500 with the 19-950M pinion
Grinding Gears:
Sometimes there is too much play on the main gear handle shaft which can result in the gears grinding. Some reels don't need a shim, others may need 1 to 3, it varies by each individual reel. 8A-7000CQ can be used on this gear, as well was optional shims below.

If you do not find what you are looking for do a Google search with Mystic Reel Parts in the search with your model. I have a Penn 285 and 9 and it took me to the exact page for both. Also have the reel schematics.

I luckily found MysticParts via a Google search. Their website is comprehensive and I was at a loss on what I needed. Fortunately the “contact us” option was user friendly. To my delight I got a personalized and VERY helpful response right away. She asked questions to fully understand my needs and then followed up with links to the right parts.
