NOTE: Penn redesigned this stand sometime early on. There is are some very early older model reels where because the stand holes are drilled lower in the tabs, the top of the tabs on the stand stick up far enough that it impedes removal of the spool. We've only encountered one instance of the problem so far.
Basically, it just means that on those older reels, removing/installing the spool would require first removing the stand.

NEWELL compatibility: Confirmed on Newell G229F, but because of differences in Newell side plates, to use the 30-65 or 30-66 on the Newell G229F, you need to file down the stand screws a bit so that line doesn't catch on them.
