Spinning Reels Handle Cross Reference
We've had quite a few requests along the lines of "Can you tell me what other handle will fit my Penn Spinning reel?" over the many years, so our techs took the time to put together a cross reference of handles where the threads would match the main gear and the collar on the handle would seat correctly into the housing, assigning a letter type to each corresponding style type. You can use this info to find the handle you would prefer for your reel. |

There are links throughout the page to go to each of the handle ordering pages, once you figure out what type that you need. PLEASE NOTE: Due to spinning reel housing/gear designs, not all handles are cross compatible within the spinning reel models. We have only just started to see more interchangeability from about 2015 on. ~MizMo

Per Penn: Slammer III and Spinfisher SSVi 6th gen series complete handles are interchangeable! 15-SLA3500 = 15-SSVi3500 15-SLA5500 = 15-SSVi5500 15-SLA7500 = 15-SSVi7500 15-SLA9500 = 15-SSVi9500 This only applies to the STANDARD reel models, not the LL or LC versions. COMPATIBILITY: If your reel model is not listed, it is NOT compatible. Spinfisher V is NOT compatible, only generation VI of the SS reels aka SSVi models. FROM SSVi2500LL schematic postit notes: The 15-SSVi2500LL handle works in the SSVi3500 Possible 2500, 2500LL 3500 same or at least interchangeable. will have to confirm this against other handles to see if any other cross combatibility, so far none found. Scott confirmed the 15-3000BTL interchanges with 15-SLA3500 so that is added? I have to double check this, I think it's a problem and I'm not sure I have it noted in the right place here. If you do not find what you are looking for do a Google search with Mystic Reel Parts in the search with your model. I have a Penn 285 and 9 and it took me to the exact page for both. Also have the reel schematics.

I luckily found MysticParts via a Google search. Their website is comprehensive and I was at a loss on what I needed. Fortunately the “contact us” option was user friendly. To my delight I got a personalized and VERY helpful response right away. She asked questions to fully understand my needs and then followed up with links to the right parts. We continued our email exchange regarding my second reel issue and, again, she was extremely knowledgeable and gave me both practical as well as professional solutions.
