Manufactured for Alan Chui under the name Pro Challenger per his specs. NOW IN Precision Machined High Quality Type 416 Heat treated Stainless Steel. Kit contains Main and Pinion Gears. 4:1 Higher Speed Gear Ratio (over standard 3.25:1 Ratio) As a replacement for the 5-113H and 13-113H gears by Penn (which are gear ratio 3.25:1) NOTE: Per the manufacturer, a stainless steel yoke 12-60SS is recommended. NOTE: The machining for the pinions can be a snug fit. Make sure the spool shaft where it seats is clean. Use a little steel wool and a bit of oil if necessary to help with installation. |  |
COMPATIBILITY / MODIFICATION NOTICE
If using the UU-PENN113H Bryan Young custom drag washer set with the 113H Pro Challenger stainless steel gears P316113H401, there is a machining issue where the ear holes in these gears are a bit snugger than on the standard...so the ears on the metals in the UU washer kit will need to be filed down a little bit if they do not fit on first attempt.*** You must clean the spool shaft! ***
PINIONS will be snug by design on the I.D.. Shaft on the spool must be cleaned! Any corrosion or build up on the spool shaft will prevent installation. Use steel wool and light reel oil on the spool shaft prior to installing the pinion gear onto the spool shaft.
