CONVERTING SLA7500 to SLA8500 spool/rotor/bail
Not all images are shown, see info below for what is required.
Information on how to put the Slammer III 8500 spool onto the Slammer III 7500 reel. Parts info from:
SLA7500 aka SLAiii7500
SLA8500 aka SLAiii8500
Both reels use the same gearing and handles, so the only housing difference is would be the model number stamped on the bottom of each housing. This has been confirmed by MysticParts.
OPTIONAL:
1-SLA8500 $45 (cosmetic change to finalize conversion to 8500)
REQUIRED PARTS:
47-SLA8500 Spool
27-SLA8500 Rotor
24-SLAiii8500HS NEWER 8500 bail wire design
Bail Arm and Bail Holder (aka Bail Cam) are the same on both reels.
INSPECT LINE ROLLER PARTS!
The below parts MAY ALSO be needed as the Bail wire design change to the Slammer III reels factors in:
If your SLA7500 has a bushing in the line roller and not a ball bearing, then it has the OLDER bail parts and you would therefore also need to convert line roller parts to match the newer style bail wires.
You'd need all of these to match to the NEWER SLA8500 bail wire:
35A-SLAiii8500HS Line Roller Bushing
35-SLAiii8500HS Line Roller
35A-BTLii8000LC Line Roller Ball Bearing (See reference Photo)
132-SLAiii8500HS Line Roller Collar
Everything else between the two reels appears to be the same.
